Journalist Predicts Conte’s Successor Would Be a “Popular” Title-Winner

Journalist Pete O’Rourke has suggested that Tottenham Hotspur reappointing Mauricio Pochettino would be well-received by the club’s supporters. Tottenham’s current manager Antonio Conte appears to be approaching the end of his tenure, which has been underwhelming. This has sparked speculation about who could replace him.

According to Football.London, Pochettino and Thomas Tuchel are leading the race to succeed Conte, should he leave Tottenham in the coming months. Conte’s contract at Hotspur Way is due to expire at the end of the current campaign, although Spurs do have the option to extend his stay by a further 12 months.

Conte admitted in his post-match press conference following the goalless draw with AC Milan that he and the club will “make a decision” on his future after the season has ended.

Pochettino won Ligue 1 with Paris Saint-Germain and remains a firm favourite among Spurs fans thanks to his successful five-year stint at the club between 2014 and 2019. O’Rourke believes that bringing Pochettino back would redeem Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy in the eyes of some supporters.

However, Tottenham has other options for a new manager, including Tuchel, Nottingham Forest head coach Steve Cooper, and Eintracht Frankfurt boss Olivier Glasner. Tuchel has been named as a possible candidate to take the Tottenham job, and he would continue a recent tradition of ex-Chelsea bosses making the switch to Spurs.

Cooper has done a great job at Nottingham Forest by getting them promoted and then dragging them away from the Premier League relegation zone, while Glasner led Frankfurt to Europa League glory last season.

Overall, only time will tell who will be in charge at Tottenham next season, but patience is running out with Conte and Levy. Spurs fans are eager to see their club win silverware, and they hope the new manager will help them achieve that goal.
