Journalist Claims Tottenham Aren’t Going to Sign £40M Player This Summer

Tottenham Hotspur’s long-standing interest in Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher appears to be over, according to transfer expert Dean Jones.

Gallagher has been a target for Spurs for some time, with bids reportedly made last summer and inquiries again in January. However, speaking on the Ranks FC Ultras Podcast, Jones cast doubt on any potential move.

“I honestly really do think that Conor Gallagher is going to stay at Chelsea,” Jones asserted. “Tottenham aren’t going to sign him at this point.”

Jones elaborated on Gallagher’s reported reluctance to leave his current club: “Newcastle aren’t going to get him, he doesn’t want to go up there. Family ties are very important to him and I can believe that he would be reluctant to relocate to the Midlands too.”

This news comes as a blow to Tottenham’s transfer plans, with Gallagher seen as a potential midfield reinforcement. Spurs will likely need to look elsewhere to bolster their squad for the upcoming season.
