Journalist claims Spurs man has been left ‘really unhappy’ with events over last week

Football London journalist Alasdair Gold has shared in a video on his own YouTube channel that he understands that Spurs boss Nuno Espirito Santo was left really unhappy with the events that took place over the international break.

Tottenham went into the break in a fantastic position. They topped the Premier League table with three wins from three.

Unfortunately, things began to unravel quite considerably. Cristian Romero, Giovani Lo Celso and Davinson Sanchez are currently in Croatia after travelling to South America for World Cup qualifiers. And fines will be coming their way.

And they are not the only players Nuno was unable to call upon due to international football.

And those problems came back to haunt Tottenham. They suffered defeat at Crystal Palace. And the margin of the loss added insult to injury.

Understandably, it seems Nuno was angered by events. Gold has outlined just how frustrated he has been with everything going on.

“I understand he’s been really unhappy with everything that happened over the international break,” he said, on a YouTube video on his own channel, “not just the mess with the players who are now stuck in Croatia, the South Americans. But also, the injuries the players have come back with.”

Few were getting overly excited. Spurs did make an impressive start. Obviously, the win against Manchester City was outstanding.

But victories over Wolves and Watford are not exactly game-changing results.

So supporters knew that there was still plenty of work ahead. But Saturday’s result will have still hurt a lot.

Nuno will be under no illusions regarding the challenge in front of him.

Obviously, Tottenham will hope to welcome the likes of Romero, Sanchez and Son back as soon as possible.

And perhaps Nuno can use Saturday’s result as a wake-up call.
