Tottenham hosted an open training session early on 31st July and the fans got to see new signing Pierluigi Gollini in action. The session was held at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in front of a crowd. The player made some brilliant saves, which certainly would have impressed the fans.
Speaking to the Spurs TV, the player was in awe of the stadium. He did not hesitate in labelling it as ‘best in the world’ and that he cannot wait to see the stadium with a full capacity crowd.
“Well, it was amazing, to be honest,”
“This stadium is fantastic and really I think the best stadium in the world.
Gollini was joined by the likes of Son Heung-min, Dele Alli, Tanguy Ndombele, Hugo Lloris and many other big names. He praised his fellow teammates and club staff, and assured everyone that he was looked after by them.
“The team has been fantastic and I’ve felt really welcome from the first moment. Everybody at the club are great people and I’m really happy and I just enjoy.”
The 26-year-old missed out on the club’s friendly against MK Dons. However, he could be in the line to make his debut in the Mind Series. Chelsea, Arsenal and Tottenham will compete in the mini-tournament to promote mental health.
Gollini could make his first appearance when Spurs play their first fixture in the mini-tournament against Thomas Tuchel’s Chelsea on 4th August. The 26-year-old will get a hint of the intensity in a North London derby when Tottenham play Arsenal on 8th August.
