Tottenham head coach Antonio Conte qualified for the Champions League last season, and was rewarded with excellent summer transfers.
Executive director Fabio Paratici signed six players: Richarlison, Yves Bissouma, Fraser Forster and Ivan Perisic. The sixth newcomer, ex-Middlesbrough right-back Djed Spence, is yet to be officially announced but the leaked images confirm that deal is done.
The signing of the young Englishman may not be Spurs’ last summer signing. Tottenham continues to keep an eye on many players, and there is still over a month left before the transfer window closes.
The problematic area for Antonio Conte’s remains defense. GOAL correspondent Marc Mechenoua recently made a statement that Spurs are considering the signing of a left-back Joaquin Piquerez from Palmeiras.
“The left side and Uruguayan international Joaquin Piquerez is the subject of interest from Olympique de Marseille. Other European formations like Tottenham and another German club appreciate the player who plays in Palmeiras.”
With the signing of the young Uruguayan, Spurs may not have to worry about wing-back position in the coming years. Conte wants two quality options for each spot to compete effectively on all fronts next season.
