“I loved being there”: Joe Hart admits he helped 37-cap Spurs man through “such a tough time”

Joe Hart has been speaking to the Daily Mail about how Nuno Espirito Santo effectively told him to leave Tottenham, among many other topics.

The 34-year-old revealed Nuno told him he’d never kick a ball under his management, in what was a very emphatic message.

Hart also spoke about Dele Alli, and his role in the midfielder’s resurgence.

As quoted by the Daily Mail, Hart said: “I put my heart and soul into it. I loved being there for people like Dele Alli, who had such a tough time. I loved helping the younger lads.”

Despite a lack of game time, the 75-cap England international was certainly a great person to have behind the scenes.

Hart is a bubbly, charismatic figure, who, even when things weren’t going well in N17, still provided help to others.

A very selfless character, and one who deserved to be treated a little bit better by Nuno, in our view.

Yes, he was surplus to requirements, but it seems Nuno was quite cold in his approach.

Ever since Mauricio Pochettino left, nobody has experienced a tougher time at Spurs than Alli.

First, as the Guardian covered, the 25-year-old was robbed at knifepoint inside his own home during lockdown, and was also punched in the face.

That experience surely left the 37-cap England international shaken up.
