Tottenham target James Maddison is “sure” to leave Leicester City in January if their poor form continues, writes the Football Insider.
That is according to Spurs insider John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.
On Saturday (24 September) this site revealed Newcastle United are planning to submit a new offer for Maddison in January after seeing two bids rejected during the summer.
The 25-year-old scored as Leicester were beaten 6-2 by Tottenham last weekend.
A Tottenham source has told Football Insider today that the Londoners are keeping tabs on Maddison going into January.
Wenham is certain the midfielder will move in the winter window regardless of Leicester’s relegation status.
“Maddison is a very, very good player,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“I loved his finish against us. No goalkeeper in the world is saving that, no doubt about it. To get it so far into that other corner so quickly, fantastic.
“Another good performance and he always seems to do very well against Tottenham. I’m sure he will be someone who is looking to move on if Leicester continue to struggle.
“I don’t need to say again how much of a fan I am.”
