‘He’s flying’ – Rio Ferdinand agrees with what Fabregas once said about Tottenham man

Antonio Conte is working wonders at Tottenham Hotspur. The Italian manager masterminded a 3-0 victory over Crystal Palace in North London on Boxing Day, writes the HITC.

Since replacing Nuno Espirito Santo on November 2, Tottenham have won four and drawn two of their six Premier League outings under Conte.

Nuno’s last game was a 3-0 home defeat by a Manchester United side that had just lost 5-0 to Liverpool at Old Trafford, underlining how poor the Lilywhites were under the Portuguese coach.

But Conte has Spurs looking like a formidable team again and Rio Ferdinand has shared an insight into the 52-year-old, via Cesc Fabregas.

The Spain international played under Conte at Chelsea and wound up winning the Premier League in 2017.

And Ferdinand claims that the former Aarsenal maestro revealed that Conte demands his troops to undertake pre-assigned tasks, rather than Pep Guardiola who gives his players a lot more freedom.

He told BT Sport: “He’s very much into detail. Cesc Fabregas said something really important about him. He said ‘I’ve played under Pep who gave you the freedom, whereas this man it’s ‘you do as I say’. Simple as that. He’s very, very rigid. He’s flying at the moment.”

It’s widely known that Conte doesn’t tolerate anybody who gives less than 100 percent in any club that he’s been at.

With a Premier League winners medal and four Serie A titles, the man is a pure winner and Tottenham players are certainly responding to his methods.

Lucas Moura, in particular, looks a totally different propsition under the former Juventus and Inter Milan coach.

And it’s fascinating to see which other players follow the Brazilian in being transformed by Conte.
