‘He’s an interesting target’ – O’Rourke says the South American star is on Tottenham’s radar

Spurs want to bring Palmeiras left-back and Uruguayan national team player Joaquin Piquerez.

According to reporter Pete O’Rourke, the 23-year-old player “fits the bill.” Speaking to This is Futbol, he shared on Tottenham’s new transfer plans this summer window.

Antonio Conte’s arsenal currently includes two left-backs, Sergio Reguilon and Ben Davies. The option of Ben Davies at the left-back position still seems very controversial. Most likely, he will play on the left side of the three central defenders.

Ryan Sessegnon is also an option for the Italian specialist, but as it is believed, the Spurs want to strengthen that area with an additional player.

The journalist believes that there is a possibility that Tottenham will make an offer for the 23-year-old Uruguayan and strengthen the club’s defensive line.

‘He’s an interesting target. I think he’s more of a left-back than a centre-back.’

‘The Palmeiras player maybe fits the bill and I’m sure he’s on Spurs’ radar, so if the right player becomes available, they could possibly look to bring in a left wing-back.’
