Paul Gilmour has revealed to Sky Sports News that Harry Kane will be back in Tottenham Hotspur training today.
Tottenham are due to train at Hotspur Way with almost a full squad available to them again.
Spurs have given the members of their squad who made the late stages of Euro 2020 plenty of time off.
However, Kane is now expected to return to duty, after helping England reach the final at the international tournament.
And Gilmour, who was live from Hotspur Way, had news on that development.
“Harry Kane has had his holiday after his efforts with England in the rearranged Euro 2020,” Gilmour said.
“He is due back with some of the other players who made the latter stages here at Hotspur Way today.
“In the last few moments a few of the first-team have reported for duty ahead of training this morning.
“With Harry Kane there is a lot to clear up with. Ultimately in among all the noise about this potential transfer, the basic facts are that Harry Kane still wants to leave, Tottenham want to keep their star striker, and Manchester City still want to buy him.”
When Kane does return to training it will be his first opportunity to work under Nuno.
Tottenham changed their manager while Kane was on England duty over the summer, and he has largely kept quiet over the appointment so far.
Tottenham are unbeaten over pre-season so far, with Nuno winning every game in charge.
However, Spurs have only really faced lower league opposition.
And Tottenham’s next two games – against Chelsea and Arsenal – should give a clearer indication over where they are at.
It remains to be seen if Kane will feature in either of the aforementioned games, or if he will be given extra time to get his sharpness back up on the training ground.
Spurs get their competitive season under way in just under two weeks with a game against Manchester City.
