‘He’ll learn from it’ – Harry Kane says one of his Spurs teammates is ‘devastated’ right now

Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane has told BT Sport that Ryan Sessegnon is absolutely devastated after they were beaten by NS Mura last night, writes the HITC.

In what was arguably the most embarrassing night in Tottenham’s European history, they fell to a 2-1 defeat to the Slovenian minnows.

Sessegnon was given his big Tottenham chance on the evening by Antonio Conte, but it lasted for just over half an hour.

The youngster lunged into two tackles and was swiftly given his marching orders.

Sessegnon protested on the pitch, but his arguments fell on deaf ears and he ultimately had to leave the field early.

Tottenham did manage to equalise even with 10 men, when Kane scored with a well executed chip.

But they then conceded late on, as they fell to a humiliating defeat.

And Kane said: “Ryan is young and he’s not had many European games. It’s different, the refs are different and the atmosphere is different.

“He’s devastated. But he’s a young kid, he’ll learn from it for sure.

It’s about getting around each other and helping each other.

“He’s been working very hard and I’m sure next time he gets on the pitch he’ll do everything to help the team as much as possible.”

The problem for Sessegnon is there has to be a question over whether there will be a next time on the pitch.

The left-wing back was fighting for his place in Tottenham’s team, but on his big chance he fluffed his lines.

Conte is famously ruthless and his post match comments suggested that he was planning to make big changes.

Sessegnon’s Tottenham future is now in severe doubt, and it would not be a surprise at all if he was shipped out in the January transfer window.
