Spurs icon Harry Redknapp has offered his take on the situation involving Harry Kane and Tottenham.
The Spurs talisman reportedly didn’t show up for training on Monday in pursuit of a move away from N17.
Kane remains linked with Manchester City and The Athletic reports that he has informed one of the Etihad players about his desire to join their club.
Redknapp, speaking to talkSPORT this morning, believes the England captain’s representatives and Spurs will be in talks right now.
The former Tottenham boss admits he’s surprised by Kane’s alleged actions but feels Daniel Levy will look to sell him – for the right price.
“Unless he has something in writing, unless he has an actual figure,” said Redknapp (3/8/21, 7:40am).
“Daniel is probably saying, ‘yes, I will sell you. I will stand you by my word if I said I will sell you. But I am not going to sell you cheap’.
“It did (surprise) me, yes, you know him as well as I do (speaking to Darren Bent). You wouldn’t have expected that.
“I would have thought that he would have just turned up and had a meeting with Daniel again – I’m sure his advisors are meeting with Daniel.
“I was a bit surprised… not the best way to go about it. He is loved at Tottenham.”
