‘Good example for the other’ – Conte reveals that a £11m talent looks so much better in recent Spurs training

Antonio Conte has been singing the praises of Tottenham Hotspur defender Joe Rodon, writes the HITC.

The Spurs centre-back has barely featured this season.

So far, Rodon has only managed 78 minutes of Premier League football.

There was confusion on Thursday when Conte omitted him entirely for the win over Brentford in North London.

But the Italian manager has insisted that he’s a big fan of Rodon – an £11 million signing under Jose Mourinho.

And Conte also said that he was growing impressed by how much improvement the 23-year-old is showing at Hotspur Way.

He told Football London: “It’s a really good example for the other players. He’s a silent player that works and works because he knows that he wants to improve.

“I’m satisfied for the improvement that I’m seeing in the training sessions about him.”

Conte has a chance to back up his claim by starting Rodon against Norwich City on Sunday afternoon.

Tottenham take on the struggling Canaries and a first Premier League start under the former Inter Milan boss seems possible.

Well, that’s only going by what Conte has said here.

But it makes sense because not only is Rodon seemingly impressing in training, but Cristian Romero is sidelined until next year at the earliest.

Eric Dier is certain to keep his place in Spurs’ back four and now Conte must decide between Rodon and Davinson Sanchez.
