Giovani Lo Celso Now Expected to Leave Tottenham After Ange Postecoglou Fought to Keep Him Last Summer

Journalist Ryan Taylor shared his expectations regarding Giovani Lo Celso’s future at Tottenham Hotspur. Taylor, who has been closely monitoring the developments surrounding the Argentine midfielder, revealed that he anticipates Lo Celso’s departure from the club in the near future, despite Ange Postecoglou’s efforts to retain him during the summer.

Giovani Lo Celso, who initially showcased great promise during the pre-season under Postecoglou, has encountered challenges in securing substantial playing time at Spurs throughout the current campaign. His playing minutes have been restricted, with only three substitute appearances in the Premier League, a situation exacerbated by an injury sustained during the League Cup clash against Fulham in August.

Despite a brief 15-minute appearance in the recent 2-1 defeat against Wolves, where Lo Celso demonstrated glimpses of his quality, Daily Mirror journalist Ryan Taylor remains pessimistic about the midfielder’s future at the club. Taylor contends that Lo Celso, at 27 years old, is likely to seek regular first-team football elsewhere.

Taylor acknowledged Postecoglou’s pivotal role in persuading Lo Celso to stay at Tottenham during the summer transfer window. However, the journalist explained that despite the manager’s efforts, the Argentine has struggled to secure a consistent spot in the starting XI, largely due to the outstanding performances of Bissouma and Sarr.

“In terms of Lo Celso, Postecoglou was actually a key driving force behind him staying at the club this summer,” Taylor stated. “But it just hasn’t worked out for him because Bissouma and Sarr have been so good.”

Reflecting on Lo Celso’s preferred position in the team, Taylor mentioned, “He’s sort of halfway between an eight and a 10 really. I expect Lo Celso to probably leave now, I really do. I think he needs to play regular football and obviously he’s struggled to stay fit. I just don’t think it’s going to work out at Spurs, unfortunately, which is a shame as he was a top player when they brought him to the club.”

As speculation looms over Giovani Lo Celso’s future, the football community awaits official announcements regarding potential transfers and the next chapter in the midfielder’s career.
