Genoa President Admits Spurs Have Refused to Give Him a Discount on Player

Genoa president Andres Blazquez has revealed that Tottenham Hotspur are not willing to offer any discounts for Djed Spence.

Over the past few weeks, reports have indicated that Genoa and Spurs have been in negotiations over the permanent transfer of Spence, following his successful loan spell at Genoa during the latter half of last season. GiveMeSport reported on June 20 that the deal was nearing completion as the two clubs were close to an agreement.

However, the transfer talks have since stalled, with Tottenham holding firm on their €7m (£6m) asking price for the right-back, a fee Genoa are unwilling to meet, according to Sacha Tavolieri.

La Repubblica, via CalcioGirona, noted that Genoa might now shift their focus to alternative options such as Napoli right-back Alessandro Zanoli due to Tottenham’s refusal to lower their price.
