Fabrizio Romano Reveals How Many Players Tottenham Might Sign This Summer

Tottenham Hotspur manager Ange Postecoglou is planning a significant squad overhaul this summer, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.

Romano, speaking on The Debrief, stated that Spurs “will be really active this summer,” with the possibility of “four or five signings” being made.

“They’re looking at different options as a centre striker or as a winger,” Romano revealed. “I expect Tottenham to be really busy. I don’t want to throw out like six or seven names, but they are considering several players and several positions.”

This influx of new talent would be a major change for Tottenham, with Romano acknowledging, “If Tottenham manage to get these signings right, they will almost be signing half a new starting XI this summer, and that’s precisely what they need.”

Postecoglou’s desire for a squad refresh comes after a disappointing end to the season for Spurs. “Numerous players in this Spurs team have been performing to below-par standards as of late, and something has to change,” Romano explained.

While acquiring a large number of players presents challenges, Romano believes it’s necessary for Tottenham’s ambitions. “Of course, signing that many players in a single transfer window won’t be easy and it certainly won’t be cheap, but Spurs do need to make a splash if they’re going to challenge in the way Ange Postecoglou ultimately wants them to,” he said.
