Fabrizio Romano makes claim about Tottenham summer plans

    Fabrizio Romano

Fabrizio Romano stated that Tottenham’s rumored interest in Anton Stach, a midfielder from Mainz, will not result in finalizing their summer transfer targets until at least the start of April. Stach has proven to be a dependable defensive midfielder in the Bundesliga since joining Mainz in the summer of 2021.

According to reports, the 24-year-old player was capped twice by Germany in 2022, and it has recently been revealed that his noteworthy performances have caught the attention of Premier League clubs. As per 90 min‘s report last week, scouts from Tottenham have visited the Mewa Arena this season to evaluate the midfielder’s abilities.

According to the publication, Tottenham was not the only club interested in Stach, as Liverpool, Newcastle United, and West Ham United were also reportedly monitoring his progress.

However, Fabrizio Romano recently stated that he has not heard of Tottenham or Liverpool’s interest in the Mainz midfielder. In an interview with CaughtOffside, the journalist explained, “Anton Stach is performing well with Mainz, and now there are transfer rumors about a potential move to the Premier League. He’s a valuable player, worth around €18-20m, but currently, I’m not aware of him being on the list of targets for Tottenham or Liverpool. No decisions on summer transfers will be made by Tottenham until at least February or March.”

Redknapp’s Worrying Observation about a Tottenham Player after FA Cup Exit

It is noteworthy that Romano’s disclosure about Tottenham delaying their decision on transfer targets until the end of March has raised some intriguing speculations. This could be attributed to the ambiguity surrounding Antonio Conte’s future at the club, as well as the outcome of the appeal concerning Fabio Paratici’s ban.
