Fabrizio Romano clarifies recent rumours over Spurs pursuit of ex-ManUnited player

According to various reports in recent days, Tottenham may be interested in former Manchester United player Jesse Lingard.

The midfielder is in free agent status after the end of his contract at ManUnited. Lingard has become a surprise option for Antonio Conte’s team.

Insider Fabrizio Romano, despite Spurs’ interest in the midfielder, refutes all previous statements. He said that there is no offer for Lingard yet.

The priority for the club is to wrap up the deal on Clement Lenglet in the nearest days and the transfer of the 29-year-old midfielder is not on the radar.

Lingard is said to be wanted by West Ham. While on loan at David Moyes’ club, the midfielder demonstrated his best football over the years, scoring or giving assists almost in every match.

The summer transfer window is shaping up extremely well for Tottenham. Signing of Jesse Lingard as a free agent may turn the cherry on the cake, if Conte has a clear plan how to derive maximum potential from him.
