A few days before the official announcement of Richarlison’s transfer, it was reported that Tottenham Hotspur have also expressed interest in Everton and England Under-21 left winger Anthony Gordon.
Sky Sports claimed that the London club wanted to include the 21-year-old Englishman into a package offer together with Richarlison. Soon after that, other news outlets dismissed the possibility of double transfer reporting that Anthony Gordon discussion are only possible as separate deal.
During the last season of the Premier League, Gordon took part in 35 matches, including 25 in the starting lineup. Scored four goals and gave two assists.
Given that Steven Bergwijn departure is imminent, and with the likes of Lucas Moura move, Fabio can make another push for Gordon. The boy is pure talent and has everything to develop into a star. He can play equally on both flanks and will be a more impactful backup from the bench in comparison to our last season’s options.
Besides, Everton must sell players this summer to meet the financial fair play regulations, and though the sell of Richarlison boosted their finances, it is not enough for a club that reportedly suffered £100+ million losses for the third successive year.
No doubts, Everton is reluctant to sell a fan favorite at Goodison Park, but if Spurs deliver an aggressive offer between 20 and 25 million, the club bosses may accept it due to the problems they face this summer.
