Everton are one of the clubs that are showing keen interest in signing Schalke defender Malick Thiaw in January, according to reports from Sport 1.
Serie A giants AC Milan are also keen to sign the 20-year-old young talent, mainly to replace Simon Kjaer who is currently injured.
According to reports from Milan News, Schalke have set an asking price of £6.8m (8 million Euros) for the player.
The player apparently is keen to take the next step in his career and he would welcome a move abroad.
He is a highly-rated young talent, but far from being the finished product.
The price being quoted for him is also within the range of Everton, but the Toffees are in no position to do business this month.
The Merseyside club have signed three players this month and unless a new manager is appointed, it’s hard to see Everton signing any more players this month.
Following the sacking of Rafa Benitez, the club are in the process of appointing their next permanent manager.
Duncan Ferguson has been given the caretaker boss role, but without a proper structure in place, the club cannot approach any players.
The young defender has made 20 appearances this season in Bundesliga second division. He has managed 3 tackles per game on average and makes around 3.4 clearances as well, according to whoscored.com.
