Eric Dier Praises Brilliant Tottenham Player

Tottenham Hotspur defender Eric Dier has lauded goalkeeper Fraser Forster for his recent impressive performances. Speaking to Spurs Play, Dier praised Forster’s “assured display” in Spurs’ recent victory over Nottingham Forest.

Forster has been in solid form for Spurs since stepping into the starting line-up in early February, despite a rocky start in the team’s 4-1 loss to Leicester. While he made an error in Forest’s only goal of the game, Forster also made some eye-catching saves to keep Tottenham in the lead.

Dier acknowledged that it’s not easy for a second-choice goalkeeper to come in and perform at a high level, but Forster has been a calming presence for the team. The 34-year-old shot stopper has plenty of experience and is benefitting from a consistent run in the side.

Tottenham’s victory over Nottingham Forest was a much-needed win for Antonio Conte’s side, who had been struggling in recent weeks. Harry Kane’s two goals in the first half, along with a strike from Son Heung-Min, gave Spurs a comfortable lead. However, the team made things difficult for themselves in the second half, with Joe Worrall scoring for the visitors and Dejan Kulusevski giving away a penalty in stoppage time.

Fortunately for Tottenham, Forster was able to deny Andre Ayew’s penalty and secure the win for his team. While Spurs fans may be wondering where this type of attacking intent has been in recent weeks, the team is now in a strong position to finish in the top four.

With regular goalkeeper Hugo Lloris set to return to action soon, Conte will have a decision to make over whether to stick with Forster or bring his captain straight back into the side. However, Forster’s recent performances have certainly given the Italian manager something to think about.
