“Enforcing all lines” – Top 4 Ajax players Levy could sign if Tottenham make Erik ten Hag appointment

Tottenham are due to sit down with Ajax boss Erik ten Hag in the next few weeks as they look to appoint a new manager.

Tottenham have scheduled a meeting with Ajax boss Erik ten Hag as Daniel Levy looks to narrow down his managerial shortlist. The Dutchman is now amongst the favourites for the Spurs job and should he land the position, he could look to bring in some reinforcements from his current club. Tottenham have already done their fair share of business with the Amsterdam club including the signings of Jan Vertonghen, Christian Eriksen and more recently Davinson Sanchez. Express Sport takes a look at who could potentially follow suit if Ten Hag lands the job.

Perr Schuurs

The young centre-back is Ajax’s latest gem off their academy production line.

Schuurs is a commanding, ball-playing defender who has already helped replace Matthijs de Ligt following his move to Juventus in the summer of 2019.

Spurs need to strengthen at the back and Schuurs could help them do exactly that.

He has been one of the best performers under Ten Hag this season and is an upgrade on the likes of Sanchez, Eric Dier and Joe Rodon.

Noussair Mazraoui

Mazraoui has just one year remaining on his current deal, meaning he could be available on the cheap.

First though, Tottenham will have to work on clearing the decks and offloading Serge Aurier and maybe Matt Doherty.

Spurs are already stacked with options – albeit unconvincing ones – at right-back but Mazraouri is only going to get better from here on in.

His attacking style and value makes him an attractive option for Tottenham.

Nicolas Tagliafico

Tagliafico has been wanted by Spurs in the past but now they have Sergio Reguilon on their books.

Ultimately, he is considered their left-back moving forward but the Spaniard has failed to build on his impressive start to life in north London.

Reports in Holland claim Ajax could be willing to sell Tagliafico for as little as £11m this summer.

He could provide healthy competition for Reguilon, something Ben Davies has struggled to do.

Lisandro Martinez

Similarly to Schurrs, Martinez is also destined for big things in the next few years.

He has been a key figure for Ajax in the past two seasons since arriving at the club and has the potential to become a top-class defender.

Ten Hag’s influence on his career has been telling and he is expected to continue his staggering development in the coming years.

Martinez would be another worthwhile addition to the Tottenham squad, with a new centre-back high on the agenda.
