“Doesn’t want to go”- Journo drops update on future of Spurs star who’s “not massively popular”

Sky Sports journalist Michael Bridge wouldn’t be surprised to see Harry Winks remain at Tottenham next season.

The England midfielder endured the toughest season of his short career in 2020-2021, starting just nine Premier League games.

Winks had started the campaign in Jose Mourinho’s best side, but soon lost his place following the form of both Moussa Sissoko and Tanguy Ndombele.

Such was Winks’ struggles, he was linked with a January loan exit, although with Tottenham still fighting on four fronts, Mourinho blocked any potential move away from north London.

He has featured in Spurs’ first two matches in pre-season, but was absent against MK Dons, and the emergence of Oliver Skipp appears to have seen the midfielder slip even further down the pecking order.

Football Insider believe that the Academy graduate is in talks with an unnamed Premier League club after being told he’s free to leave by Nuno Espirito Santo.
