Antonio Conte’s team finished the Premier League season in 4th place and made it to the Champions League group stage. In early June, the London club announced the departure of 13 players. No wonder Tottenham are looking for new signings, and priority is to strengthen their defensive line in the summer transfer window.
In the last weeks, various reports linked Alessandro Bastoni (Inter), Joshko Guardiol (Leipzig) and Pau Torres (Villarreal) with the Lilywhites. The deal for the Spaniard could include midfielder Giovanni Lo Celso, who has expressed a desire to stay at Villarreal.
A more complicated situation is with another Spurs target – Torino FC’s Gleison Bremer. The player has already confirmed that he considers multiple offers and is ready to depart, as some reports claim that Inter are leading the race as the player wants to stay in Italy.
Torino’s president, on the other hand, has no reason to rush the deal as the Premier League clubs are ready to offer a lot more money for Bremer. Per SportMediaSet, Tottenam are at the finish line with their official bid. The report continues that Torino’s president is ‘betting all his chips’ on the Premier League side.
The president’s strategy is quite clear – Torino seeks to capitalize on the sale of their main star and selling the top player outside the Serie A will come as an extra bonus.
However, if outbidding Inter is an easy task for Tottenham, the major hurdle would be to convince Gleison Bremer to move to Premier League.
