‘Demands Yarmolenko-level wages’ – West Ham prepares improved offer for Serie A star

Napoli’s and the Polish national team midfielder Piotr Zielinski can move to London. This is reported by Italian insiders and Polish media. Piotr Zieliński could get one of West Ham’s record-breaking financial offers, but the club is hesitant so far.

In particular, Il Mattino and Sportowe Fakty write that a long telephone conversation took place between West Ham managers and Zeliński’s representatives. The British asked to convince the player to accept the proposal of the Hammers. Peter is one of the main transfer targets of the London club.

According to Alfredo Pedulla, West Ham have already made an official bid to Napoli, but the Italians were not satisfied with the amount of 25 million euros with bonuses. The club want 35 million and they can afford to wait, as Lazio is also watching the player.

However, Il Mattino believes a move to West Ham is possible. The problem is the Pole’s lack of desire to play in a club that does not play in the Champions League – however, he is ready to step over himself for the sake of attractive personal terms.

The talks are about a 4-year contract with a salary of 5.5 million pounds a year – this is almost the same as Andriy Yarmolenko received (5.98 million). If such an agreement is signed, Zieliński will become the third highest paid Hammers player after Zouma and Areola. Il Mattino emphasizes that the British are analyzing whether they can afford to complete a high-profile deal.

In the previous season, Zieliński made 46 appearances for Napoli in all competitions, scoring 8 goals and providing 5 assists. The club finished the season in 3rd position in the Serie A, qualifying for the Champions League group stage while West Ham play in the Conference League.
