Dele Alli has shared his first message with the Everton fans since joining the club on deadline day (January 31).

The former Tottenham player has joined the Blues on a two-and-a-half-year deal in a deal that could be worth £40million including performance-related add-ons [Fabrizio Romano].

The 25-year-old could make his debut as early as next Tuesday as the Toffees take on Newcastle in a crunch relegation face-off.

“I’m very excited, a bit tired from the long day but we got there in the end. I’m delighted,” Alli told Sky Sports.

“I’ve had a few good conversations with him [Lampard] already, he’s a player I admired through his whole career watching him. I’m pleased to work with him, it’s very exciting, I’m sure we can do great things together.

“I just want to be happy playing football. Working with Lampard, and the great players Everton have got, is a great opportunity for me to do that. I’m excited to go there, show the fans what I can do, and help the club as much as I can.”

Shot at redemption

This is a great move for Everton.

The club were in desperate need for a few additions to strengthen the squad in January and that’s what was delivered.

Frank Lampard has been fortunate enough to make a couple of additions before the end of the window which will be a huge boost to the team and him as manager.

He has been an admirer of the England international for a long time and hopefully the pair can work towards something special at Goodison Park.

Admittedly, it has been a while since Alli has been at his best, but you could blame that things going stale between him and spurs.

He is a very talented player, and a new club, city and manager might just be the thing to reignite his career.

If that isn’t enough to get the midfielder firing, the millions of pounds in performance bonuses might do the trick.
