Conte demands club to give new contract for 17-year-old Spurs prospect, who is on fire this year

Alfie Devine will discuss a new Tottenham Hotspur contract upon his return from the under-19 European Championships with England, with The Athletic reporting that Antonio Conte is a big fan of the 17-year-old, writes the TBR.

Devine is a player Spurs fans have known to look out for ever since his arrival from Wigan. He was handed his senior debut at 16. And he has been one of the most impressive performers for the youth ranks throughout his time with the club.

The teenager became a regular for the under-23 side last season. And he went on to score nine goals in 17 games in Premier League 2. His reward was plenty of opportunities to train with Conte’s first-team.

The Athletic reports that Conte is a big admirer of the attacking midfielder. And the Italian and his coaching staff see something special in the youngster.

Tottenham plan to loan Devine out this coming season. And they have attracted plenty of interest. But they are determined to pick the right move. And it seems that they plan to confirm how highly they rate Devine on his way out of the temporary exit.

The Athletic reports that talks over a new contract are expected to start once he returns from international duty. His current terms expire in 2024.

Tottenham have a fantastic prospect on their hands. And the right loan move could be massive for Devine.

Oliver Skipp’s Tottenham spell seemed almost transformed by his time at Norwich City. Few could have foreseen just how impressive he would be at Carrow Road.

It would be asking a lot of Devine to step up in the same way at this stage. But clearly, many inside Tottenham would not see it as a surprise if this coming campaign saw the starlet really put himself on the map.
