‘Concerns me’ – Journalist says Tottenham will use potential signing in strange position

Correspondent Dean Jones reports that the position Tottenham wants to use Nicolo Zaniolo is completely meaningless.

According to 90min, Roma rejected Spurs’ offer as it offered a loan with a mandatory buyout clause for £29.5 million for the player.

It was rumored that Spurs wanted to use Zaniolo at right-back, and since the Roman club found out, it does not want to let him go.

Dean Jones speaking to GiveMeSport said it makes absolutely no sense to use Roma’s attacking midfielder in that position. Especially since Tottenham already has three options who can operate as a right-back.

“One of the things that concerns me is Zaniolo as a right wing-back has been talked about. It makes absolutely no sense.”

“I mean, Tottenham have already got three players that can play that position, and that’s not the best use of Zaniolo from everything I’ve seen of him.”
