Bissouma became the latest new arrival at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium when joining from Brighton recently. He will strengthen a department that had already increased in number with the January purchase of Rodrigo Bentancur, writes the TeamTalk.
As such, the competition for places in their midfield is growing. It has led to exit rumours for the likes of Harry Winks and Hojbjerg.
There remains a strong chance the Englishman could leave. He has been linked with Everton, as well as some suitors in Spain.
But as for his Danish teammate, there will be no such exit. According to Football London, Tottenham are not listening to offers for Hojbjerg.
Instead, they still feel the former Southampton man is a key member of their leadership group. On the pitch, his qualities can complement Bissouma, Bentancur and Oliver Skipp.
Hence, he will remain a key part of Antonio Conte’s project as Tottenham return to the Champions League.
In turn, that will disappoint his suitors elsewhere. The 26-year-old was reportedly on the radars of Premier League rivals Newcastle and Jose Mourinho’s Roma in Serie A.
But under contract in north London until 2025, it appears Hojbjerg will be staying put.
