Tottenham fully backed Antonio Conte this summer, having signed five new players as well as allowing the Italian to ruthlessly cut ties with some of their most expensive men of the recent years. Besides, several reliable insiders, like Alasdair Gold, insist that there will be more signings before the transfer window shuts.
Spurs fans can’t be more excited than now and expect the club reach new level under first full season with Antonio Conte.
Former Tottenham star William Gallas agrees that Spurs will be a formidable force next season, but at the same time, he does not think that the club can challenge for the title.
He told Genting Casino (as relayed by The Metro): “I think they can cause trouble to the big clubs. They will cause problems as they will be very strong this season, especially with the mentality of Antonio Conte.”
“I don’t want to, but I have to put [Manchester] City because they look like they are going to be very strong. So City, Chelsea, Liverpool definitely. Then the same problem, Arsenal or Tottenham, I don’t know.”
