Conor Gallagher was at the heartbeat of Crystal Palace’s 3-0 win over Tottenham on Saturday afternoon – and he earned praise from Spurs fans.
Despite coming into the match with three wins from three Premier League games, Tottenham failed to make it four from four. They were well beaten.
Patrick Vieira’s side ran Tottenham ragged and even without the red card of Japhet Tanganga – they were by far the stronger side.
Eventually, it was 21-year-old Gallagher that provided the difference. His run down the right and cross was handled by Ben Davies.
Wilf Zaha scored the resulting penalty. Then, substitute Odsonne Edouard netted a late brace after coming off the bench to score on his debut.
Another head-turning display from on-loan Chelsea star Gallagher, who is earning rave reviews for his performances in red and blue.
Despite the defeat, many Spurs fans have commended the England Under-21 ace for his display. Gallagher joined Palace, after a loan at West Brom.
While the Baggies went down last season, Gallagher was certainly a shining light. His work rate and Frank Lampard-style runs catching the eye.
Palace won the race to sign him on loan from Chelsea, beating Leeds to the punch and the Surrey-born midfielder has been excellent since.
A brace against West Ham was followed by a solid outing on Saturday. Many Tottenham fans applauded Chelsea ace Gallagher on Twitter.
