Tottenham failed to beat Southampton on Tuesday afternoon but Spurs fans have heaped praise on defender Davinson Sanchez. Fans of the North London club have applauded the Colombian star on Twitter, writes the TBR.

Sanchez, 25, has been linked with the exit door at Tottenham. Antonio Conte, though, has used the ex-Ajax regularly – with Cristian Romero sidelined. The defender has been used on the right of Tottenham’s back three.

The centre-back has now started and finished Tottenham’s last five Premier League games – even scoring in a 3-0 win over Norwich. But his future at Spurs is in doubt, Calcio In Pillole claim Napoli are interested.

The report claims that Tottenham want £25million for Sanchez, a player they paid Ajax almost double. However, his impressive form of late might just be a sign that Conte is finally getting a tune out of the South American.

According to WhoScored, Sanchez completed 50 of 57 passes during the 1-1 draw – in which James Ward-Prowse’s strike was cancelled out by a Harry Kane penalty. He also made two blocks in defence.

Spurs should feel somewhat hard done by with the draw, given Kane’s minimal offside goal. Matt Doherty also scored, but was adjudged to have fouled Southampton goalkeeper Fraser Forster.

Tottenham fans took to Twitter to discuss Sanchez, heaping praise on the defender as his upturn in form continues – since the arrival of Conte in the Spurs dugout.
