Tottenham Hotspur head coach Antonio Conte has praised midfielder Pierre-Emile Højbjerg on the club’s official website for not celebrating his goal against Leeds United, writes the HITC.
Spurs got the better of Leeds 2-1 at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium at the weekend.
Tottenham had to come from a goal down to get the better of Leeds in the Premier League game.
Hojbjerg scored the equaliser for Spurs on 58 minutes.
However, the Denmark international did not celebrate his goal.
Conte has praised the 26-year-old Jose Mourinho signing. The Italian told Tottenham’s official website: “He’s a warrior and he understood that 1-1, it’s not enough for us. Today (Sunday), it was important to win.”
Conte’s comments about Hojbjerg are really encouraging.
The Italian clearly rates the former Southampton midfielder and likes his attitude.
When Hojbjerg scored his goal, he knew that it was only 1-1.
It was ‘just’ the equaliser.
A potential winner would have probably seen the midfielder celebrate.
In our view, Hojbjerg is a very hard-working midfielder who gives his all on the pitch.
Hojbjerg has scored two goals and given one assist in 12 Premier League appearances for Spurs so far this season.
The Tottenham no. 5 scored two goals and provided four assists in 38 league games last season.
