Ange Postecoglou Admits £25M Tottenham Player Has Had a Very ‘Frustrating’ Season

Tottenham Hotspur manager Ange Postecoglou praised Dejan Kulusevski’s performance after the forward netted a brace in their 3-0 win over Sheffield United. The victory secured a Europa League spot for Spurs in Postecoglou’s debut season.

Kulusevski, who operated as a “false nine” in the absence of injured Richarlison, impressed Postecoglou with his work ethic and attacking threat.

“Deki was good today,” Postecoglou told Tottenham media. “He’s had a bit of a frustrating year, he has worked awfully hard. I just felt playing him there today might give him some freedom to move around and cause problems which I thought he did. Pleased for him to get the goals but worked hard for the team which was important.”

Kulusevski’s performance comes after a season Postecoglou himself described as “frustrating” for the Swedish forward. The £25 million man found himself on the bench against Manchester City last week, highlighting his inconsistent form. However, his performance against Sheffield United suggests a return to form, much to the delight of his manager.
