Alan Myers shares major behind-scenes Everton update, new revenue strands in works

Everton are currently working on other revenue strands after a number of commercial deals were dropped this week.

That’s according to Alan Myers, who admitted that there will be a significant short-term impact on the club after matters this week.

Farhad Moshiri cut ties with Alisher Usmanov and his companies, with USM, MegaFon and Yota deals being severed.

Writing in his latest column for Sky Sports, Myers shared the latest on the future of any commercial dealings at Goodison Park.

“To summarise, in the short-term there will be a significant impact as a result of the action taken this week,” he wrote.

“How far that affects the club’s profit and sustainability position within Premier League regulations is unknown, but I understand other revenue strands are currently being worked on in order to increase the commercial strength of the club.”

Work ongoing.

This is essential.

Moshiri knew he had no alternatives but to cut ties with Usmanov, and that meant his companies too.

The major and obvious negative behind that was the constant cash flow being pumped into the club alongside his own money.

Now, we are left in a precarious situation where relegation from the Premier League is a real threat and companies may think twice before pumping more money into the Toffees.

Sometimes you need that reassurance of the Premier League and the huge advantages it will bring to everyone.

Hopefully, this will be resolved quickly, and this is one less thing Moshiri and all of the club can worry about this year.

Afterall, there is enough going on right now on the pitch to have these developments off it take our minds off things.
