Frank Kessié’s agent has opened up on derisory Milan offer.
The Ivorian midfielder is a matter of weeks away from being able to negotiate a free transfer with other clubs.
That’s owing to his current AC Milan contract expiring in summer 2022.
It seems many clubs are monitoring the 24-year-old, with both Liverpool and Tottenham reported to be interested.
The latest twist in this saga has come as Kessié’s agent, George Atangana, has spoke to the media.
Talking to CalcioMercato, Atangana stated:
“We are at 8th game of Serie A and there is all this media confusion regarding the renewal of Kessié with Milan.”
“I don’t seem to see the same approach towards negotiations similar to this one.”
“For an important player, you always need a worthy contract.”
“There was an official offer from the club but we are talking about figures very far from what you are referring to (£5.5m per year).”
These comments will have Tottenham and Liverpool fans excited.
News that Milan haven’t offered Kessié anywhere near £5.5m a year is good for both of them.
Currently, it’s reported that Kessié earns £74k-a-week, or £3.8m a year.
That’s far less than the out of favour Dele Alli at Tottenham and on par with Takumi Minamino, who’s yet to play a PL minute this season, at Liverpool.
Both sides will be able to give Kessié a far bigger pay packet than that, especially on a free.
This will be why the fans of both clubs can be very excited by the recent comments.
The signing of the 24-year-old would be a shrewd one.
He’s been one of Serie A’s best midfielders for a few years now and grabbing him on a free would be fantastic coup.
