After losing Onana race to Everton, West Ham now shift focus to PSV’s star midfielder

West Ham are considering signing of PSV midfielder Ibrahim Sangare. This week, West Ham lost the fight to Everton for Lille midfielder Amadou Onana, who the day before as a guest attended the Premier League match against Chelsea at Goodison Park.

According to the Daily Mail, the Hammers were quick to identify an alternative to Onana, with their eyes set on Sangare, whom some other Premier League clubs and AC Milan are also interested in.

Ibrahim Sangare, 24, is valued at around £25m and is an Ivory Coast teammate of Maxwell Cornet, whom West Ham signed from Burnley just recently.

Sangare started his football career at youth system of the Ivorian club Dengele. In July 2016, he signed a three-year contract with the French Toulouse. From the beginning of the 2016/17 season, he began to play for the second team, making his debut for it on August 20 against Castane. On October 22, 2016, Sangare made his debut in Ligue 1 in a duel against Angers, coming on as a substitute in the 90th minute instead of Oscar Trejo. On September 28, 2020, he moved to PSV for 9 million euros.
