Jonathan Woodgate has raved about Tottenham Hotspur central defender Cristian Romero in The Daily Mail, writes the HITC.
The former Tottenham central defender has been impressed by the aggressive nature of Romero, and believes that the Spurs star is a leader at the back.
Woodgate told The Daily Mail: “I like Romero, I watched him quite a bit when he was at Atalanta. He’s a front foot defender, he’s aggressive. I like his authority.”
In our view, Cristian Romero is a superb defender who has been brilliant for Tottenham Hotspur.
Tottenham signed the 24-year-old Argentina international centre-back on loan from Atalanta in the summer of 2022.
The defender has injury problems in the opening months of the past season, but under head coach Antonio Conte, he has been absolutely superb.
The Tottenham no. 4 made 21 starts and one substitute appearance in the Premier League for Spurs this past season.
Romero scored one goal in those games.
The Argentine also made two appearances each in the League Cup, the Conference League and the FA Cup for Tottenham this past campaign.
Tottenham will make Romero’s loan deal permanent, which we think is absolutely brilliant.
Spurs will play in the Champions League next season, and with Romero in the team, the North London club could make a big impact in Europe’s premier club competition.
