‘6-month deal’ – London club offer contract to Christian Eriksen to return to Premier League

Brentford are in talks to sign former Tottenham midfielder Christian Eriksen, according to The Athletic.

As relays the SpursWeb, the Bees are interested in bringing the playmaker back to the Premier League, and have offered him a six-month contract with the option to extend for another year.

Eriksen, 29, has been a free agent since December after agreeing to mutually terminate his contract with Inter Milan.

He suffered a cardiac arrest during Denmark’s Euro 2020 opener against Finland last June and has not played since the incident.

Having had an operation to install an implantable cardioverter-defibrillator (ICD), Eriksen was not able to continue his career with Inter due to Italian law preventing sportspeople from participating in sport with the device fitted.

Since his release, Eriksen spent time training with Danish outfit Odense Boldklub to build up his fitness during his search for another club.

But now his imminent return to England will see him pick up on what was a six-and-a-half-year stint in the Premier League, which yielded 305 appearances for Tottenham.
