Pundit’s Prediction: Barcelona Eyeing Move for Tottenham Player

Barcelona Football Club may be looking to add Harry Kane to their ranks in the summer transfer window, according to former professional footballer Danny Murphy.

Kane, who is currently playing for Tottenham Hotspur, has been linked with a move away from the North London club for some time. Until recently, Manchester United and Bayern Munich were considered the two most likely destinations for the striker if he is to leave Spurs this summer. However, according to recent reports, things may have changed.

ESPN reported on Monday that while Manchester United rate Kane highly, they are reconsidering whether to make a move for him due to difficulties in dealing with Tottenham’s chairman, Daniel Levy. The report added that United also do not want negotiations to drag on until the final few days of the window, which is why they might turn to other options such as Dusan Vlahovic or Victor Osimhen instead.

Meanwhile, Bild journalist Christian Falk told CaughtOffside on Tuesday that Bayern Munich had not heard back from Kane’s representatives after reaching out to them last year. It was added that the Bundesliga giants are thus “increasingly doubtful” over whether the 29-year-old would be open to a move to the Allianz Arena.

In light of these developments, Danny Murphy has suggested that Barcelona could be the next club to make a move for the Tottenham man. Murphy made the comments on talkSPORT, stating: “I think Barcelona could be an option (for Kane). I do, because Lewandowski’s at the end.”

However, given Barcelona’s current financial situation, it is unlikely that they would be willing to pay over £100m for a 30-year-old striker with just one year left on his contract. Additionally, it is unlikely that Kane would want to leave the Premier League before achieving Alan Shearer’s record, which he is currently in touching distance of.
