Harry Kane and Richarlison played crucial roles in Tottenham Hotspur’s 3-1 victory against Nottingham Forest. Pundit Michael Dawson praised the duo for their contributions in the opener.
Despite criticism for their lack of attacking effort after their recent Champions League exit, Spurs showed that they still have quality going forward. Dawson, a former Lilywhites defender, was impressed with the play of Kane and Richarlison.
The Brazilian international beat his man before setting up Pedro Porro for an enticing delivery to the England captain, who scored a header that few can match.
“It’s great play down that right-hand side from Richarlison,” Dawson said on Sky Sports Premier League. “He goes past [Jonjo] Shelvey, sets it back to Pedro Porro, and it’s Harry Kane! He just gets above Serge Aurier, about 70-80 yards out, and heads it back where it’s come from away from Keylor Navas. 1-0 Spurs!”
Dawson’s analysis was spot-on, and both Kane and Richarlison deserved credit for the opener. However, the attack as a whole will need to prove that this display was not just a one-time thing.
