Memphis Depay to Tottenham Hotspur might become more realistic in the very near future, writes the HITC.
Juventus had looked poised to sign the Dutchman on a free transfer from Barcelona, with Fabrizio Romano revealing last weekend that agreements had been struck over the termination of his contract at Camp Nou.
On August 11, it was reported from Italy that Tottenham had made contact with the Netherlands international about coming to North London.
Earlier this week, there were whispers that he would now not be joining the Serie A outfit – something that Romano has now hammered home emphatically.
According to the Italian journalist, his transfer to Turin has ‘definitely collapsed‘ in a development which could strengthen Spurs’ claim on the former Manchester United winger, now evidently coveted by the Red Devils, too.

It was almost agreed last Thursday, Depay never changed his requests.

Depay can play anywhere across the front three and it was reported by Ryan Taylor on Thursday [Give Me Sport] that the Lilywhites would ‘definitely’ be signing another winger before September if Bryan Gil leaves Hotspur Way, which is looking likely.
Whether Antonio Conte and Fabio Paratici bring in Depay – who has a £200,000 per week offer from a mystery London club – remains to be seen.
However, in light of Romano’s update on Thursday, the potential destinations are certainly dwindling and maybe, just maybe, a stint in North London is becoming a lot more realistic.
